There are some great events for younger people in Clonmel this week, not only is the toy library on, but the Fire Station has an open day and Halloween prep is starting!
A new Men's Shed has opened in Newcastle, an English conversation club has started, and the Pres and the High School bring us the musical Footloose.
Did you know that each week it takes about 30 hours of work by a team of 10 people to prepare, print and distribute What’s On Clonmel?
We are still recovering from another amazing Applefest, but Clonmel keeps going on.
This week is packed with activities for all ages and interests: exhibitions, dance, film, knitting, sewing, DIY repairs, languages, board & card games, photography, chess, gardening, LGBTQ+, and tons of ceol agus craic!
This week we really pushed the limits of how many events we can include in the guide, we even had to shorten the Guide to 7 days instead of our usual 8-day schedule so we could fit 110 events!
To close a fantastic summer full of wonderful activities, Clonmel Applefest …
This week's highlight is Friday's Culture Night, a national celebration of
culture, creativity and the arts.
There are events for all ages, drama, dance and craft events, and a
historical walk through the town's laneways. Kickham Plaza hosts Enter The
Night, a collaboration between many of Clonmel's up-and-coming performers.
And as always, all culture night events are free.
Your trusty editor is too tired to write an intro text this week. But look, there's a bunch of great things to do this week, take What's On Clonmel with you and don't miss out!
Last Saturday we gathered at Showgrounds for the first Busk It!, a busking
project to raise money for The Bumbag Tapes and Whats’s On Clonmel to help
us keep promoting this amazing town.
Many thanks to the amazing musicians who came to play, and to everybody who
joined us for an afternoon of music away from the rain.
We had a great time, and hopefully we will repeat next month. Stay tuned!
This week is What’s On Clonmel‘s first anniversary; a whole year providing
you with the best resource to find activities in the town, every week
without break. Away from social media, algorithms and advertisements, we
are an independent group of volunteers hoping to make a difference.
It has been a lot of work, but the appreciation we receive from you every
week makes it all worth it.
Here’s to another year promoting Clonmel and all it has to offer.
Sláinte!
A very busy week in Clonmel, we could not fit anything else in the Guide,
not even to remind you that next week is our first anniversary issue!
It is going to be a special one, and we want you to be part of it! Send us
your stories and pictures about What's On Clonmel to whatson@clonmel.town.
What a week for Clonmel!
Last Thursday the weekly Open Mic organised by Dave Hastie & Louis Quirke
gathered musicians from all over for a last hooley at Lonergan’s before
their move to a new venue.
At the weekend people of all ages saw musicians from 10 to 80 perform in
every corner and pub of the town centre for the Busking Festival, filling
the town with a magical buzz.
With many more great events in the works, including our first birthday, we
can say Clonmel is rocking!
This is another week chock-full of activities in Clonmel and that merits
another special double edition of What’s On Clonmel.
The Clonmel Busking Festival is taking place this weekend, and they has
prepared an amazing program that will bring a wide variety of musical acts
to both public spaces and pubs.
From veteran musicians with decades of experience to teenage bands, music
lovers will be spoiled for choice!
This week we have another issue packed with activities: the bank holiday weekend brings visitors and lots of live music, summer camps for children, hiking, walking tours, social events and learning opportunities for all ages.
Clonmel does not stop rocking! This weekend the Railway Bar hosts the ChickenStock festival, which will bring blues-rock fans from all over the country; the Busking Festival is warming up with calls for competitors, plus over 30 live gigs. Board games, cards, darts, chess, films, and much more. Clonmel has something for everybody!
After two amazing and busy weeks we are back to our usual 4-page format. Some of us are on holidays, but Clonmel does not stop: this issue was edited in a tent on a field!
As the Clonmel Junction Arts Festival enters its second week, the town is
buzzing with art, music, and visitors from all over the country.
The Festival's theme for 2026 is 'Exchanges', exploring cultural exchange &
blending in our local communities with theatre, storytelling &
collaborative artworks.
With almost 130 events for all ages and all interests, we had no choice but
to make another double issue!
This issue of What's On Clonmel is our first double issue, in conjunction
with the Clonmel Junction Arts Festival (CJAF).
The What's On Clonmel project was partly inspired by CJAF 2025 / Asylum
Productions “Gutted” work, where we had conversations about the
revitalisation of our town centre and about local, grassroots promotion of
the arts. One year later, we're really happy to feature the festival in
this special issue.

With over 130 events for all ages and all interests, this is the busiest

Congratulations to everyone who has finally finished the Leaving Cert! We
wish you all a wonderful summer.
This issue is packed with daytime meetups, classes, and activities; there's
live music all week, and even the chance to relive the glory of Italia '90
with Packie Bonner.
We had to squeeze 97 events in the guide this week, so there was no time
left to write an intro text, except to say happy Summer solstice this
Sunday!
We are looking for volunteers to join our distribution team, after 43 weeks
we need some holidays.
Some regular events are taking a summer break, but this week there are lots of other activities for all: sports, arts, crafts, courses, parties & tons of live music including a much awaited gig by The Wood of O.
This week is packed with lots of events for young people, art exhibitions, many live music concerts, and the HIVE26 tattoo convention.
Festival season has started! This weekend When Next We Meet will bring first-class artists from near and far, and Clonmel will be bustling with visitors and activities.

our printing costs for the week, for the first time so far!
Thank you.

our printing costs. We still need your support to print next week and
beyond.

Thank you. Last Friday we had our party & fundraiser, and it was the
best night we had in a long time.
We asked for your support and we were overwhelmed by your response. Since
December we had accumulated a deficit of €1000 and we were at a breaking
point, but thanks to all of you we raised an incredible €1150, finally
bringing our books out of the red and giving us the confidence to keep
going.
This Friday 13th we are celebrating six months of What’s On Clonmel in
Carey’s Irishtown with a fundraiser party to help us continue promoting our
town and all it has to offer.
We would love to see all our readers. Come and enjoy the live bands, open
mic, and raffle with great prizes donated by local businesses.
This is one of our busiest weeks yet. Celebrations for International Working Women's Day, the Finding a Voice festival brings music by women composers through the ages, new bands from all over Tipperary gather for the Battle of the Bands competition. Lectures, classes, workshops, social clubs, sports, music sessions, there is so much to do this week that we had to redesign the guide to fit 88 events in only 4 pages. We hope you like it!
This week marks 6 months since the first issue of What’s On Clonmel, a
small idea that quickly grew thanks to the enthusiastic support from the
community.
To celebrate, and to raise much needed funds to cover our printing costs,
we are putting together a fundraiser party with many surprises. Stay tuned
for details!
This week is one for the local history enthusiasts!
We mark the 200 year anniversary of Clonmel's mysterious, star-crossed
lovers, Anna Grubb and Frederick Close, along with an exhibition and talk
on the town's Quaker history.
There's multiple art exhibitions, an ever-increasing selection of classes,
and live music all week.
And don't forget, the launch of Battle of the Bands is this Sunday! Get
your applications in by Friday 20th to be in with a chance.
This is a very exciting week for music in Clonmel: the Community Choir is
back into rehearsals, Uproar Choir is doing pop-up performances around
town, there is a pilot trad session in The Coachman, in Gleeson's Platform
5 debuts as a new monthly showcase of original music, and things are
heating up for the Battle of the Bands...
With 73 events this week, there are no excuses to be bored in Clonmel!
Happy Imbolc! It is close to six months since the first issue of the Guide was published. It has been an incredible amount of work for a very small team, but it was also a lot of fun!
January is usually a quiet time of the year for activities, but this week there was barely enough space to include the 75 events you submitted to the Guide!
Exhibitions, theatre, dance, photography, film, crafts, storytelling, sports, social groups and classes of all kinds, and lots of live music... There is no excuse to be bored this week!
The snowdrops are up, the days are starting to stretch, and springtime is
just around the corner.
This week, why not shake off the winter sluggishness and check out
something new? Try your hand at an art workshop, get back into exercise
with dance, Parkruns or a mountain walk, or brush up your Gaeilge in cheery
company.
And as always, Clonmel Town is brimming with song, with over 20 live music
events this week.
Christmas is now officially over but winter is not. Some will be trying new
resolutions while others will seek comfort in familiar things, but you can
always find others to make the journey more pleasant. Here is a list of
great ways to brighten this cold January, without even leaving town!
What's On Clonmel, your antidote to the seasonal blues.
We’ve made it, 2025 is finally over!
It has been a difficult year for many, the world is a scary place, but we
can make it better if we help each other and find community.
We will continue doing our part to help Clonmel by supporting local artists
and businesses through 2026. You can join us too!
Happy New Year from the whole What’s On Clonmel team!
It is 4 months since we started publishing this Guide, each issue is
hand-crafted with no AI tools. It is a lot of work but we keep going every
week without a break.
Your support makes it all worthwhile and reinforces our commitment to the
arts, the town, and to continue on the New Year.
Happy Christmas from the whole What’s On Clonmel team!
This is our biggest edition yet, with almost 80 events, we could barely fit
them in 4 pages! Christmas parties, concerts, exhibitions, magicians.. even
Santa on a motorbike! Keep your copy of What's On Clonmel in your pocket so you
don't miss out on the fun.

You would think that there is nothing to do at this time of year, but we could
barely fit all events into this edition of the Guide!
What's On Clonmel, your antidote to the seasonal blues.
Winter has arrived: the days are getting shorter, clocks went back, it's been wet and miserable, but Clonmel keeps going with activities for all. What's On Clonmel is your antidote to the seasonal blues!
Elections this Friday, Samhain is around the corner, and with the bank holiday this week is packed with activities for everybody.
This week, Clonmel hosts a variety of events for Tipperary Mental Health Week, the start of Climate Action Week, as well as Autumn Harvest celebrations. And that’s before we mention the usual array of comedy, dance, and live music gigs!
After a very busy September, Clonmel still has lots to offer this week: autism conferences, cancer awareness events, dance performances, exhibitions, and over 20 live music concerts.
Applefest is happening this week, and that means another special double issue of the Guide. And with 1500 copies printed it is our biggest edition yet!
This week’s edition is a special double issue, there is so much on in Clonmel that a single page could not fit it all!
The second issue of the What's On Clonmel guide is now out, and is being printed right now.
