Clonmel does not stop rocking! This weekend the Railway Bar hosts the ChickenStock festival, which will bring blues-rock fans from all over the country; the Busking Festival is warming up with calls for competitors, plus over 30 live gigs. Board games, cards, darts, chess, films, and much more. Clonmel has something for everybody!
After two amazing and busy weeks we are back to our usual 4-page format. Some of us are on holidays, but Clonmel does not stop: this issue was edited in a tent on a field!
As the Clonmel Junction Arts Festival enters its second week, the town is
buzzing with art, music, and visitors from all over the country.
The Festival's theme for 2026 is 'Exchanges', exploring cultural exchange &
blending in our local communities with theatre, storytelling &
collaborative artworks.
With almost 130 events for all ages and all interests, we had no choice but
to make another double issue!
This issue of What's On Clonmel is our first double issue, in conjunction
with the Clonmel Junction Arts Festival (CJAF).
The What's On Clonmel project was partly inspired by CJAF 2025 / Asylum
Productions “Gutted” work, where we had conversations about the
revitalisation of our town centre and about local, grassroots promotion of
the arts. One year later, we're really happy to feature the festival in
this special issue.
The Junction Festival's theme for 2026 is 'Exchanges', exploring cultural
exchange and blending in our local communities with theatre, storytelling
and collaborative artworks.
With over 130 events for all ages and all interests, this is the busiest
week in a while.
Congratulations to everyone who has finally finished the Leaving Cert! We
wish you all a wonderful summer.
This issue is packed with daytime meetups, classes, and activities; there's
live music all week, and even the chance to relive the glory of Italia '90
with Packie Bonner.
We had to squeeze 97 events in the guide this week, so there was no time
left to write an intro text, except to say happy Summer solstice this
Sunday!
We are looking for volunteers to join our distribution team, after 43 weeks
we need some holidays.
Some regular events are taking a summer break, but this week there are lots of other activities for all: sports, arts, crafts, courses, parties & tons of live music including a much awaited gig by The Wood of O.
This week is packed with lots of events for young people, art exhibitions, many live music concerts, and the HIVE26 tattoo convention.
Festival season has started! This weekend When Next We Meet will bring first-class artists from near and far, and Clonmel will be bustling with visitors and activities.

This week is packed with games and trivia! As well as the bingo, bridge and cards nights, this issue sees an adult chess club start in the library, there are 3 quiz nights, and Clonmel Community Choir host a bingo evening with a musical twist.
We have another great week of live music in Clonmel, with gigs by rising stars [Dara Vincent] and [Peadar Bradshaw], another [Platform 5] event showcasing original creators, and the announcement of the full festival line-up for [When Next We Meet] which promises to be the best one yet!

Another busy week in Clonmel, with 75 events for all ages and interests. This week is your last change to see the exhibitions running in STAC, Linn Gallery and the Library; on Saturday the many communities of Clonmel come Together to celebrate our shared heritage in CTI The Mall, and lots of live music, courses, and many opportunities to socialise and have fun.
Thank you. Last Friday we had our party & fundraiser, and it was the
best night we had in a long time.
We asked for your support and we were overwhelmed by your response. Since
December we had accumulated a deficit of €1000 and we were at a breaking
point, but thanks to all of you we raised an incredible €1150, finally
bringing our books out of the red and giving us the confidence to keep
going.
This Friday 13th we are celebrating six months of What’s On Clonmel in
Carey’s Irishtown with a fundraiser party to help us continue promoting our
town and all it has to offer.
We would love to see all our readers. Come and enjoy the live bands, open
mic, and raffle with great prizes donated by local businesses.
This is one of our busiest weeks yet. Celebrations for International Working Women's Day, the Finding a Voice festival brings music by women composers through the ages, new bands from all over Tipperary gather for the Battle of the Bands competition. Lectures, classes, workshops, social clubs, sports, music sessions, there is so much to do this week that we had to redesign the guide to fit 88 events in only 4 pages. We hope you like it!
This week marks 6 months since the first issue of What’s On Clonmel, a
small idea that quickly grew thanks to the enthusiastic support from the
community.
To celebrate, and to raise much needed funds to cover our printing costs,
we are putting together a fundraiser party with many surprises. Stay tuned
for details!
This week is one for the local history enthusiasts!
We mark the 200 year anniversary of Clonmel's mysterious, star-crossed
lovers, Anna Grubb and Frederick Close, along with an exhibition and talk
on the town's Quaker history.
There's multiple art exhibitions, an ever-increasing selection of classes,
and live music all week.
And don't forget, the launch of Battle of the Bands is this Sunday! Get
your applications in by Friday 20th to be in with a chance.
This is a very exciting week for music in Clonmel: the Community Choir is
back into rehearsals, Uproar Choir is doing pop-up performances around
town, there is a pilot trad session in The Coachman, in Gleeson's Platform
5 debuts as a new monthly showcase of original music, and things are
heating up for the Battle of the Bands...
With 73 events this week, there are no excuses to be bored in Clonmel!
Happy Imbolc! It is close to six months since the first issue of the Guide was published. It has been an incredible amount of work for a very small team, but it was also a lot of fun!
January is usually a quiet time of the year for activities, but this week there was barely enough space to include the 75 events you submitted to the Guide!
Exhibitions, theatre, dance, photography, film, crafts, storytelling, sports, social groups and classes of all kinds, and lots of live music... There is no excuse to be bored this week!
The snowdrops are up, the days are starting to stretch, and springtime is
just around the corner.
This week, why not shake off the winter sluggishness and check out
something new? Try your hand at an art workshop, get back into exercise
with dance, Parkruns or a mountain walk, or brush up your Gaeilge in cheery
company.
And as always, Clonmel Town is brimming with song, with over 20 live music
events this week.
Christmas is now officially over but winter is not. Some will be trying new
resolutions while others will seek comfort in familiar things, but you can
always find others to make the journey more pleasant. Here is a list of
